The addition of Katha to the Ottawa culinary scene is a unique & very welcome one. A highly refined, flavourful, well-executed series of 8 courses - all very different but complementary. Unlike any other Indian restaurant in the region, so in its own unique league. Cost per head quite reasonable, for what one gets. This was an outstanding experience. Service was excellent & the chefs told an interesting story behind every dish. Overall the food was terrific - just the right amount. We felt that we learned something interesting that we would consider for our own cooking with most dishes. The menu is changing for the start of 2024 - we will definitely be back.Voir plus
Visited this place last night & was blown away by the experience. Big, bold flavours in each of the dishes, surpassed only by the creativity displayed by the chefs. Highly recommend getting the wine pairing as well. What made this so unique was the story that each chef told with the dishes - adding a personal element really helped the dishes shine.Voir plus

A great experience at Katha! The tasting had more than eight beautiful plates with well balanced spices & heat. Some plates reminded me of other Indian food I've had, others were completely new to me & fun to try. It was special hearing the chefs personal stories that influenced each plate when they presented it to us. Excellent experience & well worth the visit- really creative tasting menu, highlights included the rose dessert & the mushroom broth with daikon dumplings- we were a group of 8 with a couple of dietary restrictions & all were accommodated with ease- great service from Owen, & kitchen staff presented every dish as it was served- we were placed in the back room due to a booking mixup which was appreciated, we put on some music on our phones just to have a bit of charm- one small advice is to skip the non alcoholic cocktails- they were pretty pricey & not very flavourful, just sweet- but everything else was amazing- I didn't get it, but folks at the table raved about the wine pairing as wellVoir plus

Went for the 8 course tasting menu mid week on a Wednesday. Very quiet but perfect for us. Easily the best meal I've ever had. Every dish was perfectly cooked & seasoned & delicious. Having the chefs come out each course to talk about the dish & relate it back to their lives in India was really special. Our server was attentive, friendly & knowledgeable.
