Tropikal delivered a meal worth remembering. A combination of traditional Caribbean spice that warms the soul & modern twists that enhance the flavour without overwhelming it.
Two of us shared an Ox Tail platter & Jerk Chicken that proved to be a perfect portion (we took some home).
If you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar, Matt’s service rounds out the experience with playful charm & perceptive attentiveness to his customers. After mentioning we weren’t interested in an Alcoholic Beverage, Matt crafted a Blueberry Colada mocktail that I hope makes it to the menu one day.

Best Jamaican food I ever had. Everything was so delicious. Pasta even though they told it is spicy it felt just right amount of flavors & spices. Jeri chicken looks pricey but you get alot, can easily feed 2. Jerk chicken Tacos were tood good. Everyone absolutely loved it. The price is on higher side. We had mocktails & it was good as well. Would recommend this place if you want to try Jamaican food & would love to come back again.View more

My husband & I went to Tropikal for date night & from the moment we walked in everything was amazing. The atmosphere & decor is fantastic, staff were friendly & the food was insane. We started with the coconut shrimp & mushroom appetizers then followed that up with the jerk chicken, griot, mac & cheese & plantain. The flavour combinations were perfect. We decided to pop into the restaurant, it was our first time visiting. The food was fantastic, spicy & yummy. We kept ordering additional dishes! In addition, the staff were helpful as well as informative about drinks & dishes. We were lucky to meet one of the owners, again a lovely bloke. This is a fantastic addition to the restaurant culture of Ottawa. Highly recommend.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list & wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again & again.

The food was amazing, the customer service was great, it was taking some time for our food to arrive but they were great seeing it was busy hours & the place was packed, unfortunately we were not aware that at 11 the food service was closing so we didn't get the chance to order our mains & only had appetizers & drinks, overall I recommend this spot for delicious african slash carribean food, the vibe is so relaxing too.
