The service was great. However, the person I was with was accidentally served raw chicken. The server quickly talked to to the kitchen & replaced it. Overall the atmosphere was great.

We enjoyed most everything except the truffle fries... we found them bland & had to much oil. The Calamari & jerk chicken were very good & although pricey... the cocktails were great. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves.
P S it would have been nice to have at least 1 dessert option.

Party of 6 - The food was amazing! We ordered Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta, Oxtail, Curried Goat, Sauteed Mushroom, Calamari & the Pepa Shrimp & Lobster. Portion was perfect for a group of 6. Flavors we're on point. Thank you for making my birthday celebration extra Special. Aresta (sorry if I misspelled) was our server & she was very helpful & such a great host.
Tropikal delivered a meal worth remembering. A combination of traditional Caribbean spice that warms the soul & modern twists that enhance the flavour without overwhelming it.
Two of us shared an Ox Tail platter & Jerk Chicken that proved to be a perfect portion (we took some home).
If you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar, Matt’s service rounds out the experience with playful charm & perceptive attentiveness to his customers. After mentioning we weren’t interested in an Alcoholic Beverage, Matt crafted a Blueberry Colada mocktail that I hope makes it to the menu one day.

Best Jamaican food I ever had. Everything was so delicious. Pasta even though they told it is spicy it felt just right amount of flavors & spices. Jeri chicken looks pricey but you get alot, can easily feed 2. Jerk chicken Tacos were tood good. Everyone absolutely loved it. The price is on higher side. We had mocktails & it was good as well. Would recommend this place if you want to try Jamaican food & would love to come back again.View more
My husband & I went to Tropikal for date night & from the moment we walked in everything was amazing. The atmosphere & decor is fantastic, staff were friendly & the food was insane. We started with the coconut shrimp & mushroom appetizers then followed that up with the jerk chicken, griot, mac & cheese & plantain. The flavour combinations were perfect. I don't know if I'll be back here. The place is lacking some some key points but the food is amazing & one of the best that I've had. Drinks are way too over priced & they are actually not good. Don't spend money on cocktails. They are not worth it. I believe they are understaffed because service was not good at all. No checkups, finished plates on table for more that 30min. Had to call waitress myself couple times to get an order through.
Again food is phenomenal. Oxtail is great but don't order the sharable since it's mostly bones(not fall of the bone, u literally have to eat them with Ure hands). Jerk calamari was an eye opener & one of the best. Oxtail tacos & jerk chicken was delicious.
In summary, come for the food, order everything right away once u are given a table, & do not order cocktails (any cocktails).
Message for the owner. Ure chef is amazing but u need to do something at the bar level.

Thank you for a lovely night at Tropikal. The ambiance was fantastic, & the presentation of the food was lovely. However my partner & I were disappointed by the food. The mushroom based starter had a good sauce, however the mushroom didn't taste very flavourful. It tasted like it was added to the sauce at the last minute & hadn't absorbed any flavours. We were also disappointed by the size of the very small pieces of garlic bread that came with the mushroom. Secondly, the truffle fries were quite burnt so were less enjoyable. Then, the snapper fish we had as one of the mains was also not very flavourful on the inside. However the red peppers that came with the dish were really good. Finally, the jerk chicken main was the best item we had. The sauce that came with the chicken was delicious, but the chicken on its own was ok. All in all, we would rate the food experience on its own as a 5/10, therefore we wouldn't come back here to eat. This was disappointing given that we have heard many people rave about the food in the Montréal location. The ambiance & drinks were good though so we may come back for that another time. We had such a good time. The music was good, the drinks were superb & the food was crazy fast. Now onto my food, I had the Rasta pasta with Jerk Chicken. It was absolutely mouthwatering. The only complaint I'd have is the portion, I wish the serving was a bit bigger but the experience was Fabulous.

Well done! It's so nice to have elevated Caribbean food in the City. Food presentation was spot on! Nice vibes, great tunes & not to loud can hear the rest of our party. Food was great. The jerk calamari, oxtail poutine & that coconut shrimp was delicious!! We also had the Rasta pasta with jerk chicken, griot with rice & peas & the lobster & pepper shrimp all tasty. We'll definitely be back! Service was a bit slow but it was packed so it was to be expected.
