Tropikal delivered a meal worth remembering. A combination of traditional Caribbean spice that warms the soul & modern twists that enhance the flavour without overwhelming it.
Two of us shared an Ox Tail platter & Jerk Chicken that proved to be a perfect portion (we took some home).
If you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar, Matt’s service rounds out the experience with playful charm & perceptive attentiveness to his customers. After mentioning we weren’t interested in an Alcoholic Beverage, Matt crafted a Blueberry Colada mocktail that I hope makes it to the menu one day.

Overall amazing! Table a little wobbly on the patio; would prefer to hear your music rather than the music from other restos across the road, if possible.
Server was kind & attentive, would be helpful to train to know details of exactly what goes into certain things on menu, eg callaloo from wikipedia:
Callaloo is a very nutrient rich, dark green leafy vegetable that is very popular in the Caribbean. It is comparable to collard greens, kale or spinach & is served mainly as a breakfast item.

I enjoyed my experience, in general. We were served efficiently. While I like the concept of elevated Caribbean/Afro Latino food, I found that the dishes we tried needed more heat & flavouring. Serving sizes were also small & pricey, but I guess these days everything is?

Fabulous decor, great staff, tasty food. This is fusion Caribbean as some of the dishes are not as you would find prepared in the origin country.

was very pleased with the food, especially as a Caribbean man myself (Jamaican) the curry goat was well done to perfection! I enjoyed every bite & the portion was just enough. I would definitely come here again & try something different next time. Good music was playing. The crowd was loud but didn't defer me from my meal. & the a/c wasn't on maybe was just an off day. still enjoyable & thank you to the waiters & cooks working hard. much appreciated

Well done! It's so nice to have elevated Caribbean food in the City. Food presentation was spot on! Nice vibes, great tunes & not to loud can hear the rest of our party. Food was great. The jerk calamari, oxtail poutine & that coconut shrimp was delicious!! We also had the Rasta pasta with jerk chicken, griot with rice & peas & the lobster & pepper shrimp all tasty. We'll definitely be back! Service was a bit slow but it was packed so it was to be expected.
