I found this place like two years ago but hadn't got to go back until today because my work schedule & their hours sadly clash. I was so excited to get to go in again. I got a huge bag of flour (which grocery stores only sell small bags & the texture of gluten free flour from the store is sensory hell.) I'm so excited to have a huge bag of flour. I struggle to find things to eat since I cannot have carageenaan because it hurts my stomach. I asked if they used it in the cinnamon buns & I was told they don't use it in any of their products at all which made me beyond happy. Most things that have dairy, or even most dairy alternatives contain carageenaan. Due to the icing on so many baked goods typically containing it, at other bakeries that are gluten free, I haven't been able to eat barely anything at those other bakeries. I also got flatbread to make beaver tails & I'm so excited for how those will turn out. When I went years ago I got chocolate chip cookies which I remember were good & I got a cake for my birthday that was like chocolate & had I think raspberry or something like that in it(we just got it on the day so like it was just the cake they had premade) & it was good. I normally hate like fruity type fillings with chocolate, but I actually liked it. It still would not be my first choice due to preference, i'd get a different kind of cake, but it was very good for a last minute cake. As much as soo many of these reviewers want to cry about the safety protocols (because y'anno how dare we care about anyone else's health, especially considering this is a bakery catering to allergies🙄) it's not like you're being asked to do anything difficult. Like grow up people. You might only care about yourselves, but other people actually have consideration for others. I genuinely love that this place exists. If you don't have an allergy to most food, (I cannot have gluten, dairy, or carageenaan) then you have no idea how much having a place like this means to people. You have no idea the struggle of finding good food that won't make you sick. Lots of people like me with allergies are also immunocomprimised & enjoy not having to worry about getting sick to go get food we can eat. I know there are very few people who care about that though, since I see so few people wearing masks anymore. I appreciate this place so much. I wish I could go more often & I will definitely be back whenever my schedule allows it. Also I just love the owner's responses to reviews. As a food service worker myself, your responses are honestly amazing. There's some things I wish I could say to customers who are being unreasonable & ridiculous. Just keep doing what you're doing.Voir plus

Looking for new gluten free & stumbled upon this place. Cakes are okay, felt a little uncomfortable there. I don't think I'll go backVoir plus

Food is great but the service is ridiculously slow. There were only 5 customers ahead of me & I stood in line for 42 minutes before being served. The shop is understaffed & can't handle getting the line moving.Voir plus

Today I swung by to grab some Quinoa crunch cookies for me & my sister since they were so good last time, & asked Susan (the very sweet owner) for another recommendation to take home as well. She recommended the butter tarts & oh boy, they are delicious. A truly joyous atmosphere & wonderful baked goods to match! 10/10 highly recommended!Voir plus

I've seen negative posts. This place is expensive but given that Sue is the only one running the shop & doing all the baking is a big feat. It's great that she caters to those with environmental sensitivities & to the vegan crowd. Let's cut the woman some slack. Any self run business is hard work.Voir plus

My favourite gluten free pies (dairy free too) in the city! (Short of my mom's pies, but nobody can compete with someone's mom's pies). The colour coded cards really helped so I could find stuff my husband could eat too without having to ask about each product individually. The lemon tart didn't last 10min upon bringing it into the house.Voir plus

I'm not Celiac (I'm a fortunate person who has no food allergies). I discovered this bakery in 2014 after my mom died & I travelled to Ottawa often to see my dad . He didn't have food allergies but he did have a sweet tooth & this bakery was close to his home. Our big treat were squares! I moved to Ottawa in 2019 & continue to drop by & indulge myself. I typically buy the 2 types of squares he loved & it brings back happy memories. Sometimes the owner is too busy to have more than a "business like" transaction & I understand. I mean she is running a business & not a social club... lol. But I love it when she has time for a chat; she's smart, opinionated (I like that) & has a great sense of humour.Voir plus
