A quaint hole in the wall, Mr. Pho is staffed, it seems, by one man. The owner/waiter/cook who, despite all these responsibilities, greeted us with a smile & personal greeting. The food was good, if simple. I had the Special Salad roll, which was a Vietnamese rice paper roll with a spring roll inside, & beef Phó. The broth was quite nice, & was perfect for a chilly November evening. We waited perhaps a bit longer than the average Phó establishment, no doubt due to how the owner was working by himself. Perhaps the staff shortage is due to residual impact of the pandemic, as another reviewer mentioned. I hope Mr. Pho can recover as the owner was very kind & obviously loved making food for people.View more

Mr Pho restaurant was across from the Best Western Hotel I was staying at & since I wasn't super hungry I thought I'd try a Pho soup after reviewing other reviews of nearby restaurants. I've never had Pho soup & I think the owner saw the confusion on my face as I browsed through the menu so he made it easy by giving me quick choices to narrow down want I wanted. I ended up with a medium, cooked beef soup & shrimp spring rolls. After figuring out how to eat the soup, which came (I got it to go) in one container of broth, another with beef & noodles, a bag og basil & bean sprouts & sauces on the side. The broth was delicious, best soup I've ever tried... who knew! The medium was too much, i had to put half in the fridge for later, & the spring rolls were ok but nothing to rave about.. but the soup made up for those easily. Great service & even better food. yum!
