Food was okay(over priced), but service was not up to our expectation. We were expecting a relaxed dinner & have a good chat with couple of our friends that we havent seen for a long time. We intentionally select Mati & expect we would enjoy our time together. But we were disappointed. We felt the server was in such a rush & as soon as we finish last bite, the plate was taken away & you felt someone was over your shoulder all the time which was not comfortable. We end up leaving early because we felt very uncomfortable & been pushed out so they can serve the next group. It was not correlated to the price. If you are looking for a nice place to relax yourself, look for another place.View more
Food close to perfect nothing to complain about, host & servers are 10/10. Nice cozy place only missing a little bit more of light that should be directed to the food on the table to enjoy the food not only by mouth but esthetically too. Definitely recommend this place for tasty food addicts.View more
If you are looking for a stuffy, pinky's up, great food & service, with no atmosphere kind of night, don't come here. If you want to have fun, have overwhelmingly kind & attentive bartenders, have trendy music pumping, staff that actually want to be at work serving you, paired with an incredibly well thought out food/wine/cocktail menu then this is the place for you. Order the steak + crudo, have a Jimadors Cafe (you won't even know there's tequila) & enjoy a night at the bar.View more

We came to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The food was great. The sangria was great but for a $15,00 glass I will expect a lot more than half the glass. We ordered the seafood tower which was very tasty. The double tower is good for one person. We ended up ordering the pasta which was nice but a little more seafood for the price would of been nice $48.00. We wish our waitress Max was more up to speed with her service. Unfortunately we had to raise our hand a few times to get her attention. You will think knowing that it was our anniversary, they will wish you "Happy Anniversary" here is a small token of your celebration (dessert) but our day was not acknowledge by our server. When My husband made our reservation he told the person we were there for that. You will think after spending $300 plus including tip on our dinner they will say "Happy Anniversary". Sorry but there are other restaurants who will go the extra mile to make your celebration an outstanding experience. Instead on focusing an outrageous prices focus on the details or small things that a customer will much appreciate.View more

We went here for our anniversary & we enjoyed our time. Food quality was fantastic, very friendly staff, & nice atmosphere (though maybe making it not too dark would be nice)! We ordered the seafood tower with extra lobster tail, s'mores brownie dessert & cappuccino. Everything was a great bite & my wife, who rarely eats tuna sashimi enjoyed the ones here. My wife & I had the pleasure of dining at Mati tonight & I must say, the atmosphere, the service, & let's not forget about food - it is all absolutely perfect.
One of the highlights of our visit was the delicious Seafood Tower. With a mix of hot & cold dishes crafted with such care & attention to detail, the results are a burst of flavors that delight your taste buds. It is highly recommended & a must have when coming back to Mati time & time again. Additionally we enjoyed all of the cocktails we tried. My wife instantly fell in love with the Mati Spritz & it has now become her favorite drink.
Tonight we were celebrating our anniversary & everyone at Mati truly outdid themselves to make the evening absolutely amazing. We cannot thank everyone enough for their efforts in making our celebration so memorable. It's evident that they genuinely care about their customers & want everyone to have an incredible dining experience.
Additionally, I would like to commend the staff for their flexibility. They were able to accommodate a last-minute change to our reservation without any hassle.
In conclusion, Mati is a place we always love to go to. The atmosphere, the food, the cocktails, & the exceptional service all contribute to an unforgettable experience. Whether it's for a special occasion or a casual night out, Mati never fails to impress.View more

The whole experience was exceptional & the food was great. Our group of 7 shared the best seafood tower we have ever had & a 50 ounce tomahawk steak. To top it off, they gave cake since we were celebrating a couple of birthdaus. Everyone left happy & raved about the whole experience.View more
Went there last night to celebrate my birthday. Was greeted warmly upon arrival & enjoyed the ambiance of their patio.
We ordered oysters & they were delicious, the horseradish was shaved fresh but had zero flavour. Our lovely server fixed this immediately.
The food has great presentation value, while tasting delicious.
Would recommend.

This was the first restaurant we went to after arriving in ottawa. Everything was to the point, with the exception of the horse raddish which they dilligently resolved. The meat & charcoal grill are killer. The oysters too were well worth it. I recommend this place.View more
