The atmosphere was awesome and our server was very knowledgeable and made sure that our allergies were known to the chef. It was awesome to see how accommodating they could be. The food was incredible and the price was okay. Will be back!!
Braving the cold weather, we made it out to Kinki last night to celebrate new years.
And we were are very happy we did so. The table d'hotes we ordered were quite good, and so were the staff and music.
Food was great, waitress was very kind.
Tres bon service, a l’ecoute et super getil. Merci. Abientot!

Although service was good, the food was well below par for what I would expect at KINKI. I havent been there in years, but they used to be well known for their sushi (among a wide array of Asian Fusion). They used to have their sushi counter right there in the dining room, Yesterday my husband & I each ordered the Osaka lunch, which came with 8 assorted pieces of Nigiri sushi, as well as a salad. (choice was soup or salad; soup was bacon potato, which is good under normal circumstances, but alongside sushi? Strange choice).
We also ordered 3 pieces of the Hokkaido (Scallop) Sashimi. They were good, although a little fishy (should have had a cleaner taste), and they had been marinated, which we had never encountered before. Of the 8 pieces of Nigiri, 2 were Surimi (artificial crab stick), at which we were shocked to receive. I can understand they have it to put in California rolls (which I never order ), but to receive it in my sushi assortment? It is not sushi (!). 2/8 = 25%! So ¼ of my sushi was fake & processed. Of the remaining 6 pieces, 3 of those were salmon... Some assortment(!) Everything tasted fresh (not quality, just, not bad) but the serving sizes were so incredibly small. Usually a Nigiri sushi is 2 bites for me; no way I could fit all my my mouth. But these pieces of fish were small, and the mounds of rice were small. Just popped them in my mouth with ease like they were nothing. Most of the fish was cut super thin, less than ½ cm thick. Some pieces of salmon were so thin it resembled Smoked Salmon. Salad was good. But the sushi was a huge fail.
Thank God I used a Groupon. Very disappointed at how far downhill KINKI has gone.
Food was great!
The service was amazing! This was my first experience at the restaurant! Interesting experience.
Good food, fun ambiance. Loved my Caesar!
Previous experience, very nice atmosphere and good food.
It's different than the rest! Nice place.
We received very bad service in another business and we decided to leave and come here. Would absolutely recommend , this place is awesome, the staff is very friendly, the music is great and the food is fantastic.
I came here because I had a coupon and also I've been here and I liked it. Would recommend because of Eclectic menu and variety and atmosphere.
Attended a friends birthday here.

Came for comedy night and after party with my partner and two friends. Comedians and music were awesome, and atmosphere was great. We decided to come Early for dinner first, but were disappointed by a very long wait for the meal, poor quality food, poor value for money and an inexperienced server who did her best but ultimately did not ensure the meals were made to order. A vegan mushroom burger came with mayo on it. It was served with McDonald's type french fries on a white bun and cost $17. Rice rolls, two small rolls for $10, had marinated peppers and onions for filling, nothing fresh. Some of the meals were cold. No one in the party felt that their meal was well-prepared or worth the value.
Great tasting food. The tacos are flavourful and crunchy. Sushi tastes fresh and delicious. Steak is very tender but wish it had more seasoning.
Atmosphere was horrible because of construction outside and no other patrons in the restaurant. Was not particularly clean inside.
Food is too expensive compared with other Ottawa sushi restaurants. Food was prepared by an entry-level chef with little imagination or skill. Rice was stale. Will not return.
First time at Kinki. Would recommend ! Food was decent, server was fun-quirky, and the late night vibe was boss.
Like the decor. Good service, food and music.
Great place. Love the kinky artwork and delicious sushi. A little on the expensive side but the sushi was delicious. Combination of ingrediants you wouldn't find in a typical sushI restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place.
Food and service were great. Pleasant surprise as it was my first visit.
First time guest at Kinki. Appitizers were great. Main was average. Service was excellent. A very loud event was on the night we went which we weren't aware of ahead of time otherwise we would have come on a different night. Lots of coarse language and hard to converse at the table.
