The King Eddy opened on December 15th, 2014. Located in Ottawa's historic Byward Market, the 'Eddy' is home to Ottawa's best Burger, All Day Breakfast, Hand Cut Fries, Shakes and Fried Chicken! We offer a wide variety of classic 'diner' type fare that is made fresh in house every day with quality ingredients.

The legendary King Eddy Burger is a double cheeseburger freshly ground in-house that is classically simple and delicious (no ‘gourmet’ burgers here folks!). Our famous Northern Fried Chicken is hand-breaded to order with our own secret spice blend; enjoy it on a sandwich or by the bucket (seriously)! For the breakfast traditionalist, we offer the King Eddy All Day Breakfast; our version of the classic two-egg breakfast with real hand-cut potatoes and homemade chili for only $10.99 ($8.99 for your early birds). But for those looking to venture out of their breakfast comfort zone try the Locco Mocco, a rice bowl topped with two King Eddy beef patties, gravy, and sunny fried egg - you will not be disappointed!

We also offer an extensive beverage menu that includes local craft beer, wine on tap, signature cocktails, and some amazing milkshake flavors (Cookies & Cream or Nutella anyone?) and soda floats.

At The King Eddy we hope to offer an experience that is non-intimidating, family-friendly, and one that people gravitate to for all occasions. We were a group of 3 people so we were seated immediately as we arrived. Everything seems to be going well until we placed our order & had to wait over AN HOUR to get our food. Once we finally got it, our friend ordered a Dr.Pepper. After a few minutes went by & no one had brought it, he decided to go inside & asked another server. Our server went over to ask what he needed & they reminded him about the Dr.Pepper. My friend came back to the table as he was told they'll bring it to the table. After a few minutes we had to ask a third server for the drink so he could finally get it. In conclusion, HORRIBLE & SLOW service!
The food was acceptable, nothing out of this world. My friend got chicken & waffles, the waffles were cold but as we had already waited over an hour, we were starving & decided to just let it go. The eggs Benedict were good but the English muffin was so hard that it was hard to cut with the knife.

This was our second time giving them a chance & can guarantee there will NOT be a third!
