The products are very good quality & enjoyed the tiramisu. We spent over 100$ on different goodies & liked the store & me & my wife bought a sandwich & cappuccino each. While waiting for our coffee we started eating at a empty long table & was immediately asked to leave because the table was for the restaurant. I've never seen such bad business étiquette . The table could easily fit a dozen people & was completely empty & we had to ré wrap our sandwiches & go eat them in the cold car with our cappuccino .will not be returning after this experience.View more
Visited Ottawa for the first time & stopped by this neighborhood gem I found. What a gorgeous spot with great staff! I loaded up on a variety of Italian goods & had an amazing Cuban sandwich for the ride home. When traveling I will make sure to go out of my way to visit again.View more

I was looking for an alternative to nicastro's on Merivale because it's permanently closed now. Right now, I'm in Il Negozio Nicastro on Wellington St. I was just looking for anchovies & they have about seven different varieties to choose from. This place is awesome. Clean, attentive staff, great selection of wide variety of things. (I meant the store is clean but the staff are pretty clean too.) Highly recommended.View more

Great spot, products & service is top notch. Their fresh made for you coffee is delicious, along with their sausages & meatballs. Great selection of Italian treats as well to go with the coffee.

Dear good people of Nicastro's,
As usual, the meats, cheeses & other Italian treats are out of this world!
That said, I noticed the lasagnas & meatballs now have a fennel flavor.
Do you make lasagnas & meatballs without fennel? Much preferred.
I used to go to the Nicastro's
in the glebe in early 2000. I don't remember the fennel flavor from that location.
