Was craving a club sandwich, & this turned out to be the best I've had in Ottawa. I'm just used to places that have hard bread, dry chicken, & a dollop of mayo. This was not that. The bread was fresh, the chicken melt in your mouth tender, & the sauce something in between mayo & dill salad dressing but it worked.View more

Went to Fraser on 2023-12-16 & we sat by the open kitchen. Service : Really Really nice ! 👌 Those guys know how to treats the guests! They are working as a team & are so good at what they do. The perfect balance between being present & being invisible at the same time ! Food: for starter, We had the beef tartare definitely one of the best beef tartare I ever had & the portion is very generous. Totally worth it ! & the olives ( seriously, you need to get theses ) Drinks: We had 2 drinks,with the starter; one bourbon & one rhum base cocktail. They were good but nothing over the top. The wine were perfectly paired with our main course. Then we had the tuna which was delicious ! & we had the quebec sirloin which was really good, perfectly cook, & generous portion. desserts were good & fresh & again perfect amount. Ambience: having the open kitchen is really great ! You can see how professional & passionate the cooks are. Your food don't wait on the hot plate .. they get to you right away !View more

We live in Montreal & actually go to Ottawa to dine at Fraser.
All selections have always been great, very good quality, excellent cooking, well presented & have a great service.

Frasers offers distinct & tasty dishes that stand out. However, the TV playing Netflix can be distracting, especially if you're trying to have a conversation at the high tops. The waiters are attentive & friendly. Overall, a good spot for quality food.View more

Still a hip, happening joint. Had brunch today with my folks & the menu was interesting & appetizing. I don't usually get too chuffed about brunch but today was notable. Had the Scotch Egg Caesar Salad, which was tasty & well presented. The cheeseburger with fried egg was a good size & very flavourful.
It was very busy & noisy, even at 1pm. Too noisy for my parents to make out conversation, so maybe not a good spot for the hearing-challenged (anyone over 50!) Brunch for 5 of us was almost $200 including tax & tip, so budget accordingly. Brunch anywhere is overpriced, but here it didn't feel like I was just paying exorbitantly for plain bacon & eggs! We dropped into Fraser Cafe quite by chance one Friday evening & the place was pretty full, even at the bar. When we told them that we did not have a reservation, they did some checking & found they were able to seat the two of us. The service was professional yet friendly. The food was interesting & delicious! The red wine we chose (Rioja) was amazing & I later found out that it is NOT available in the LCBO. Will most likely be going back to Fraser, with pleasure.
