Went there on a date night & the food was wonderful & so was the chef & our waitress. The complimentary warm bread was lovely, fresh calamari & the gnocchi were all delicious. Ciao Italia is a true gem in Ottawa offering an authentic Italian experience. The inviting ambiance, coupled with impeccable service, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Absolutely delicious dinner at Ciao tonight!! Food was so delicious & portions were huge! Hubby had the veal saltimboca, best he's had outside of Italy!! The service was so good, Anna Maria was so attentive & sweet. Definitely on our list of favorites in Ottawa. Better Italian would be hard to find.Voir plus

Was reading exceptional reviews of this new nondescript Italian restaurant in Chinatown thinking reviews must be written by friends & family. Ordered takeout Monday when most other restaurants were closed to give it a try. Well the reviews were true - great Italian food to be found here! Complimentary buns were tasty & warm - garlic bread was great made with fresh garlic (smelled & tasted great) Calamari was tasty with light breading - & while I normally prefer a white dipping sauce the red sauce was very light, slightly sweet & accompanied very well Main was Pescatore pasta - very very good. Pasta itself was excellent - had to be homemade. Mussels very good. Large shrimp were plump & sweet - same for the scallops. A surprisingly good find right next door Chatted with waitress & owner briefly - very nice people. Very much looking forward to coming in for dinner to try the veal. If you like very good Italian food you should give Ciao Italia a try. You will not be disappointed.Voir plus

Ordered midnight delivery, wasnt expecting too much -- but boy was I absolutely blown away by how DELICIOUS my primavera pasta was! Usually you receive a primavera & it's made with one or two veggies, even a frozen mix...but omg mine was absolutely filled with veg! Brocoli, sundried tomatoes, peppers, onion, peas, mushrooms, you name it! Absolutely incredible, 100% will be ordering again.Voir plus
