Great experience! The drinks were fantastic, & the service was even better! Our server was very kind & energetic, also knowledgeable she put together our charcuterie board with very vague input. She also gave us some fantastic recommendations. The atmosphere was good nice setting the place is loud, but that's part of the vibe & buzz. Overall a great experience it is on the high end but it's worth it!View more

Took friends here for their first time, always great service & the menu items are creative & well presented. We have never had a bad dining experience here & they are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions with equally exceptional plates. Highly recommended, but get a reservation, the outdoor patio is closing & this is a very popular restaurant.View more
We went to Bar Lupulus on Friday - 10 people for a couples night out. Boy did we pick the right place! We were lucky to get Kayla who is an absolute ALL STAR! She was on point with service; smiling, friendly, engaging, knowledgeable & attentive. Kayla was able to make the perfect wine recommendation based on asking us a few questions, & not making us feel silly! Kayla's are so rare in Ottawa & the service industry in general - thank you everything! As someone who dines all across NA/South/Central America & Europe... The whole experience was wonderful. The staff know their menus (drinks & food) inside out & know how to pair things nicely. The atmosphere is very chic or trendy, but comfortable - it works well & the food, & service elevate it even higher. Highly recommend, this was a recommendation to me by some foodies I know, & they love this place!View more
Finally a place in Ottawa with a great selection of craft beer on tap & by the bottle. The beer on tap is available in a 4 Oz pour so you can try several. That would be enough to give it stars but the food was great too. I was there with a large group & we had their six course tasting menu. Every course showed a creative flair (balsamic gelato). My experience at Bar Lupulus was exceptional. I ordered the Beef Tartare, Arctic Char & peaches & cream. All dishes were delicious. However, I found each dish to be too creamy which balanced the nature flavour of the dish too much- personal preference. The wine & cocktail list was great & our server helped us understand how we could pair our wine with our dishes which was much appreciated. We loved our servers' passion for wine- this contributed to us having a great time because we knew we were not randomly selecting wines off the menu. 200% for service! Highly recommend! Like many newer places in Ottawa right now, this resto-bar has super-hipster décor, with an equally fancy-looking menu. Further, the high prices might make you think you're dining at a fancy restaurant in Manhattan. Unfortunately, the food is only mediocre.View more

The restaurant had a great atmosphere & a good selection of drinks, but unfortunately, the taste of the dishes was disappointing although they were very well presented. The combination of ingredients lacked flavor & didn't work well together, & some ingredients were undercooked. The textures were also oddly combined. On top of that, the bill was quite expensive. I would only recommend this place for drinks & a couple of appetizers if you're looking to enjoy the atmosphere.View more

Food was very good, but a bit to expensive for what you get. The dish of my friends were really good but my pasta dish was literally Spegatthi with a tiny bit of braised veal cheeks. The noodles were really good but sauce was normal.
The bad part was when we were about to pay. We waited in total 45 min to get the check & pay.. When we finally got the check, the waiter went off again without making us pay, came back 15 later to place other tables, then went to pay another table while we are still waiting with the bill in hand. Very unprofessional
