Was excited to try the rebuilt Naples Pizza after having gone to the previous restaurant on many occasions since the 1980's....
Food quality - Ordered the Naples "Special" Lasagna which is a perennial favourite through the years . Was served a very tasty dish (with a premium price), however, was not hot but rather warm (my companion had the same) and no bread/buns accompanied the dish (at the price paid it should be an automatic accompaniment).
Service - Were served our appetizer (fried zucchini), however, were not given plates nor napkins ....that's an imperative. When asked, server returned a few minutes later with cutlery wrapped with a napkin (thanks).....Lasagna was served shortly afterwards and chili peppers were requested....waitress returned a few minutes later (again) with requested. No additional drinks/water was offered although my companion had finished her drink about halfway through the meal. At the end of the meal bill was promptly offered (no....would you like anything else, etc.).
In closing, food and service was mediocre for the price paid and I'd also like to note that ordering was done in french so there was no communication problem. Would I return? At $65 for 2 plus tip, I think my hard earned dollars will go elsewhere as it was clearly a major disappointment ....
I'm not interested in bashing this pizza resto but I must add this review; after a long day at work my family asked me to bring home a treat- PIZZA!! So I called ahead to the newly rebuilt Naples. Set my iPhone for 25 minutes and headed to Gatineau, politely sat in the waiting area after I paid for the order and after 45 minutes politely asked the two girls at the checkout if my pizza was even ordered, BEHOLD IT WAS SITTING BEHIND BY THE COOKS JUST DOING ITS " GET UNFRESH AND UNHOT" . Returning home to present the 4 day old pizza to my famished family and our microwave. Ps; perhaps this will help the owners tweek the staff a bit and just maybe we might try them again in a few years. Happy holiday !
