August 08, 2022. Just had dinner at Back to Brooklyn Ottawa with some friends. I ordered the $26.00 Brooklyn steak sandwich. It was inedible. Hardly any steak on the bread, which turned out to be a good thing because the steak was full of fat; I left it on the plate. The bread was not a brioche but Texas toast. The fries were not hot, not warm but cool. My friend also had fries with her burger which were the same cool temperature. We had to asked for ketchup, vinegar, salt and pepper for the fries. When we got the bill we were charged $2.00 for the vinegar but we're never told there was an extra charge. When I gave some feedback about my steak, to the waitress, she asked "do you want me to have it out with the chef"? I was shocked to have such an apathetic response. She continued to try to justify why there was no point to talk to the chef because the meat was already mixed together. Then I asked to have the $2.00 vinegar charge removed from my friends bill. The waitress said she could not, that there was no manager I could talk to, then said she would see what she could do. The vinegar charge was removed from the bill. Restaurant looks nice, don't waste your money and time with poor food and service.
